Self defence tactics and basics for women of all ages

This six-week program includes self-defence techniques, tactics and hands on practice. Each week you will learn new skills to help you stay safe. The 75-minute class includes hands on practice that will make you more confident each week. Class size is limited to 20 and is taught by John Dehondt, a 3rd degree black belt in karate, with assistance from his karate students.


 

Week #1

Self Defence Basics

  • Attitude/ managing fear/ understanding intimidation

  • Grabs

  • Practical escapes

 

 

 Week #2

Street Proof

  • Safety awareness

  • Falling properly

  • Headlocks and other holds

  • Review and practice

 

Week #3

Kickin’ It

  • Learn and practice kicking techniques to disable an attacker (with kick shields)

  • Review and practice

 

 

Week #4

Real Life Situations

  • Fighting dirty

  • Car jacking

  • Home invasion

  • Road rage

  • Review and practice

 

Week #5 & #6

Review

  • Practice

  • Defend against simulated situations and attackers (karate students last class)

 

   

The 6-week program will be held at the Grand Bend Fitness Centre.

Cost $99.00 + G.S.T.
